AdBlocker Ultimate for iOS: Overview

Overview of AdBlocker Ultimate for iOS: what it blocks, key features, and how it works within Safari.

AdBlocker Ultimate for iOS is a content-blocking app for Safari that blocks ads, malicious domains, and trackers. It uses Apple's Content Blocker API to filter what loads in Safari before it ever reaches your screen.

Unlike other ad blockers, AdBlocker Ultimate for iOS has no predefined acceptable-ads whitelist. All ads are blocked equally unless you specifically choose to allow a site.

What it blocks

  • Display ads, banners, and pop-ups

  • YouTube commercials

  • Online trackers and analytics scripts

  • Malicious and phishing domains

Key features

  • Safari ad blocking — Blocks ads directly in Safari using Apple's native Content Blocker API

  • DNS Protection — Blocks known ad and tracking domains before any connection is made, and encrypts your DNS queries to prevent your internet provider from seeing which sites you visit. On mobile this is especially effective because it works across every app on your device, not just Safari.

  • Custom Filters — Add your own filtering rules or subscribe to third-party filter lists

  • Whitelist — Easily allow specific websites you want to support

  • Continuously updated filters — Filter lists are kept up to date automatically

Important

AdBlocker Ultimate for iOS filters content within Safari only. DNS Protection is the exception — because it operates at the network level, it blocks known ad and tracking domains across all apps on your device, not just Safari. The app does not use a VPN and does not install a certificate.

Available on the Apple App Store.
